What Causes Fluid Filled Lump On Knee After An Injury?

I fell on my left knee roller skating and again a few days later after running over a train table the ortho said it was a bone bruise but it was vry painful yet numb feeling to touch. Now 6mos later there is like a swollen knot that feels like it has fluid in it and can t stand to touch it. It s about the size of an egg. What might this fluid filled. pocket be?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
You have got prepatellar bursitis. It's fluid collection that is lying anterior to knee joint and formed due to repitative trauma. This needs to be investigated with ultrasound of knee joint to confirm diagnosis. If ultrasound is showing prepatellar fluid collection it needs to be removed surgically. Please consult expert orthopaedic surgeon nearby you and get yourself examined. All the best.
