What Causes Fluid Leakage From The Middle Of Back?

Hello, I m 65yrs and had back surgery about 10yrs ago. I had rods, screws, plates inserted in my back. I have had some pain but not much until about two weeks ago, my rods and screws started protuding from under my skin and I have fluid coming out of the middle of my back? The color is pink, it seems to have blood and liquid in it. Unable to lay down with out feeling alot of pain! Or standing, sitting to long. Right now I have a gauze on the middle of my back to catch the fluid.I am also a Cancer Patient Stage 4, Cancer has spread to my bones, when I went to the Hospital to get my back check the Doctor did not seem concerned he said all my test were clear did not show any infection or anything else? So it s not Cancer? Just fluid leaking from the middle of my back between the two rods? Taking pain medication right now.
