What Causes Fluttering Feeling Below The Sternum Area?

I am 56 years old and about 50 pounds overweight. I have had problems with acid reflux which seems to be under control now with medication. Three days ago I started having a fluttering feeling just below my sterum area. It has continued off and on now for 3 days. It is not painful, and I am pretty sure it is not my heart. I started a healthy lowfat diet and have been walking approximately 40 minutes a day for at least 5 days a week for the last 3 months. I have lost 12 pounds. I have been feeling better and more energetic, until these flutterings ( or spasms) started. They just a nuisance;but , I do wonder what they are and wherther or not I should see a doctor. Over the last couple of years, my family doctor has sent me to a cardiologist and gastro specialists who determined my heart was fine, and that I had acid reflux.

Hi,

Do not worry about that, it is supposed to be due to the acid reflux. the problem, as hiatal hernias and esophageal tone, can cause this feeling. If you have anxiety try to relax and avoid stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
