What Causes Fluttering In Chest Or Neck While Weening Off Percocets?

I have been on percocets for the past 5 months due to chronic pain caused by a bulging disc. I have recently had surgery to correct this and am slowly weening off the pain medication. I have been experiencing fluttering in the chest but almost seems like its in my neck. I can t define where its coming from. However can you tell me if I should be concerned. I am 37 and otherwise healthy

Hello,

The fluttering you feel in the chest is palpitation. It is you being aware of your heart beat. You have become aware of this either due to a change in the rate at which the heart beats or the strength with which it beats. This is likely to be due to the withdrawal of Oxycodone to which you have become addicted. It would be best for you to consult a doctor, have an EKG taken and depending on the findings to proceed further.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
