What Causes Fluttering Sensation Below Belly Button With History Of Tubal Ligation?

I am having fluttering that started out just below my belly button and upper pubic area. Now it is going to my left side as well. I had a tubal 15 years ago. I have not missed any periods but they have been changing. Should I take a pregnancy test or just make an appointment with my MD?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, without missing periods with changing pattern and fluttering sensation lower abdomen may be of concern as pelvic inflammatory condition or else. Primary relief with antispasmodic medication such as Drotaverine hydrochloride, Mefenamic acid or Dicyclomine after meals. Discuss the need of an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis with your treating physician during planned visit.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
