What Causes Fluttering/twitching Sensation On The Right Side Of Head And Is It Dangerous?

I am a 33 year old female who has recently been experiencing a fluttering/twitching sensation on the right side of my head, above and behind my ear. Almost feels like a muscle twitch. Lasts for a few seconds to a minute, completely painless, just feels weird, happens at any time during the day, doing anything. What could be causing this? Is it something that could be serious?
