What Causes Foul Smelling Stools In Infants?

Sir, my baby is 6 and a half months old and still weighs 5.5 kg.her birth weight was 3.2 kg.now the problem is my baby s stool is very foul smelly and she always poo when she had something.she is bottle feed and started solid food.may i know what may be the reason for bad smelly stool and not gaining proper weight??

Diarrhea, bloating, or gas (flatulence) may accompany foul-smelling stools.
Often a change in your diet is the reason for foul-smelling stools.
Carbohydrate intolerance–the inability to completely process carbohydrates (sugars and starches).
Dairy protein and other food allergies.
Infections that affect the intestines may also cause foul-smelling stools.
E. coli and Salmonella, as well as certain other viruses, bacteria, or parasites are some of the common infection.
Weight is near normal (birth weight doubles at 5 months).
Still you can go for stool examination after consulting a doctor to rule out any infection or malabsorption.
Formula should be made with proper amount of water.
Try iron and multivitamin drops.
