What Causes Frequent Bowel Movement With Bleeding After Colon Removal?
My boyfriend had his colon removed in April, had his intestines resected to his rectum as to not has a colostomy bag forever. He was doing well then about 3 sweeks ago he started going more frequently and he s wiping blood every time and i don t think its his hemmoroids. i think he should go to er but he s afraid. feels a lot of pressure in rectum as well as abdominal area as well.
it is best if you bring him to the ER especially if there's an active bleeding as this might lead to a significant blood loss. a follow-up consult with his surgeon for clinical evaluation is best. complete blood count must be done. a blood transfusion might be recommended if the blood loss is significant. physical examination and clinical evaluation will be done to ensure that there is no problem/bleeding in the post-operative site. diagnostics (such as imaging) and management (medical and/or surgical) will be directed accordingly.
hope this helps.
good day!!
