What Causes Frequent Cystitis?

I seem to get cystitis frequently usually resulting in my GP prescribing cipro, which generally clears the infection. But she has told me that if I should have another episode, she will refer me to a urologist. I d like to know if there is something I am doing to cause these infections... Thank you.

Hello
Thanks for query .

It is very common in females to get repeated episodes of UTI compared to male this is due to
1) Proximity of anus close to urethra which favors easy access to bacteria to enter in bladder
2) Use of common toilets which are mostly unhygienic and not cleaned up properly .

Get your urine culture done and take appropriate antibiotics as per culture report .

Ensure to observe proper personal hygiene by cleaning and wiping entire perineal area with water every time after you pass urine .

This will help to prevent getting repeated episodes of UTI.,
