What Causes Frequent Flatulence In Children?

hello. my 10year old farts more tha usual. he has a fairly good diet,healthy etc. its starting to get him into a wee bit of trouble in school and music,he said hes not nervous. now its starting to get to him. i know its common to let a few go but this is more than average. thank you

Hi.... I understand your concern. Usually the excessive flatulence is diet related. If the kid is on high protein diet and intake of pulses is more than usual, then this can happen. Otherwise this could be initial symptom of irritable bowel syndrome. I suggest that you reduce the pulses intake in his diet and try. You consult with his pediatrician regarding this is, if after the dietary changes he is still flatulent.
