What Causes Frequent Sniffing While On Anti Depressants?

I am repeatedly sniffing for no reason, have been depressed before and since my spouse of 47 hrs died I march 2014 after alzheimers and parkinson s. Sniffing started about 3 months ago. I take a low dose anti depressant for fibromyalgia. I do not sniff when with people? Can this be emotional stress?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the symptoms are due to stress but normally other causes have to be ruled out first.

This would include rhintis which is inflammation of the nasal passages due to acute infection , side effect of medication or allergies.

If the symptom is disturbing then you may want to consider review by an ENT doctor.

I hope this helps
