What Causes Gaining Weight After Having Levothroid?

i was told by my doctor that i had a under active throid and was put on levathroid she has currently upped the dose to 125mg because everytime i was tested it was still not coming out that the meds was helping but since my dose went up it seems like it is so hard to lose weight i work out atleast 4-5 days aweek at 1 1/2 to 2 hrs per day i have lost some but it is taking for ever i have changed my diet but i am woundering should i stop the meds cause it seems like when i do i am able to have more energy and able to lose

Continued weight gain after being put on drugs for low thyroid suggests that the dosage is not well adapted. How much a client needs to take daily is determined by his or her response to treatment/ While others may need as little as 25mcg, others may need as much as 150mcg or even more. Stopping the medications would be a mistake to me that should be avoided. Work with your doctor on getting the right posology and your weight gain issues would be corrected.
