What Causes General Malaise, Fatigue, Dizziness With Temporal Lobe Seizures Suspicion?

I have had general malaise for the past 8 months... sometimes it last all day..sometimes it comes and goes.... there are periods where i feel normal..however there are periods of time where I experience malaise, fatigue, and or dizziness for extended periods of time. It is quite debilitating both physically and mentally. My doctor doesnt know what it is. he has treated me for arrythmia with betapace and toprol, but after a full cardio workup, heart issues have been ruled out. I am currently being treated by a neurologist for suspicion of temporal lobe seizures.... I had an EEG and there were some faint signs of abnormal activity. I have had an MRI and there were some small abnormal spots, but nothing alarming. I am being treated right now with 150mg Lamictal..and it goes up to 200mg next week. Unfortunatly, this hasnt helped. Any ideas?

Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.I think I may be able to help you.

The symptoms that you have mentioned are possible in a large number of cases. It would therefore need a detailed description of the symptoms and a more detailed examination by a good physician.

However, considering the history of possible temporal lobe epilepsy being considered in your case, I think it would be prudent the we consider the possibility of the symptoms being caused by the same problem.

There is a condition that is called as aura. This is a condition that frequently occur prior to Frank seizures and often happen alone. The symptoms are usually vague. Fatigue, vertigo, and other such symptoms are the usual features.

I would like to think that the symptoms Are due to the same diagnosis. In this case, the ideal dose of medicines that you are on will eventually benefit you. But the dose has to be individualized and so you will need to be patient.

I have tried to answer your question in as much detail as possible and as lucidly as possible. Please feel free to contact me for further information on the subject.
I will be glad to help you.
Best of luck.
Dr Mittal.
