Hi, I have just started feeling dizzy when I stand up quickly from bending over . I am 64 in reasonable health have cholesterol and am on a statine, have back pain due to compressed discs and arthritic knees, lead a busy life with young grand children, teach 1 day a week. was widowed 1 year ago and am certainly in mourning still. Have a very supportive family and a large group of friends. Am in my weight level and bike and garden for exercise. What maybe the cause of my giddiness?
Hi, It is called as postural or orthostatic hypotension. Any sudden movements, the body might not be able to mobilize the blood supply suddenly and the brain receives less blood and sometimes, it results in fall. You were able to manage, so you are complaining of dizziness. Sudden movements should be avoided as you might fall. If you are not under hypertensive, you can take more salt, and take plenty of fluids. If you have any cardiac or thyroid problems, do consult your doctor once.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
