What Causes Green Colored Stool Along With Lower Abdominal Pain?
Several weeks ago I had a lot of pain in my lower abdomen and was kept in hospital overnight for tests to which they found nothing. The past week, pain has been off and on, my bowel movements have increased quite a bit but are not soft, however, there has been something in every movement. About a week ago, it started when I had a very dark green bm and then after that there is what seems to be sort of like a broken up chalk like substance in them...every time and once in a while still some green. What is wrong with me?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of green colored stool and sometimes a chalky material, pain in lower abdomen on and off. You were admitted overnight for investigations but were normal. I would advise you the following: Since you have undergone all the investigations, go only for stool test for three consecutive days. Get started on a proper antibiotic as the green stool means infection. Take a course of probiotic, multivitamins. banana and curds. Avoid all the foods and beverages from outside of the home and those which you know cause some trouble in your case. You will be fine soon.
