What Causes Green Colored Stool In Baby After Taking Solid Food?

Hello Doctor,My daughter is 7 months old,80% formula feeding and 20% breast feeding before starting solids her poop was yellow.... after starting solids like oatmeal cereal banana rice i became green and smelly daily..... Please suggest me is it normal?

Thanks for the query.
Green stool may be due to infection viral or bacterial , parasite.
Early transit of food from the gut may also cause it.
Inadequate hind milk feeding, delayed starting of solid food, recent change in the baby's diet are some of the reason.
If the child is gaining weight, no fever, no vomiting, activity is normal then there is nothing to worry.
If problem persists see a doctor and get stool test done.
