Hello my 86 year old dad was halucinating last night and today. No new med changes. He is on a blood thinner and is diabetic. Any ideas as to why this may be happening He took robitussin for congestion but the hallucinating began before he took that,

Hello,
The elderly are at great risk for delerium, a condition that can result in confusion, hallucinations and even changes in levels of consciousness (alert one moment and drowsy or out of it the next). Many things can cause this including medications and infections. He needs to see a doctor and be checked for infections and other conditions that may cause this problem
