Welcome to HCM

Hard lump on the back of the head can be a sebaceous cyst or a dermoid cyst or can be due to any unnoticed trauma.

Dermoid cyst will almost always be in the midline. If it is a dermoid cyst the intracranium extension has to be found out by radiographic investigations.

Sebaceous cyst will be mostly post traumatic, a punctum will be visible in the swelling.

Watever may be the cause, it is better to get examined by a paediatrician. You dont gave to worry, all are treatable conditions.

Take care.
