What Causes Hard Stools And Constipation While On Cholestoff?
I have been taking Cholestoff for 6 months. For the past 2 months, I've suffered from hard stools and constipation. I have a high fiber diet, get plenty of exercise and drink lots of fluids. I've recently added fiber supplements to my diet which have been of no help. Is it possible that the Cholestoff is causing this problem?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes it is just likely that Cholestoff might be the cause, although no information is available for this. Still just for confirmation why not stop using it, if there is relief in constipation, then Cholestoff may be the cause.
Because you are taking enough of it for constipation but nothing helps you. If even after stopping the Cholestoff condition remains same, it could be something else. Then it is most advisable to see the gastroenterologist, just to rule out the pathological condition of colon.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
