I just had my yearly pelvic exam 4 months ago and everything checked out, includng my pap. Last week, during sex with my husband we began to play around differently than normal and I fingered myself. I was alarmed to feel a hard organ with a slit in it, should it be hard or soft? Should I be alarmed??
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. From your description, I guess that you may have felt your cervix. The non-pregnant cervix is firm to touch and the opening or 'os' as it is named, can also be felt. This is the slit that you felt. The pregnant cervix is soft and is felt with difficulty. When there is a vaginal birth in the past, two lips are formed on the cervix as the os slits during labor. Thus, there is nothing to worry. Hope your query has been clarified. Wish you good health.
