Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 6 year old daughter, weight 14.5 kg. She is having warm fore-head from last 10 days, fever mostly normal. Sometimes below normal like 98.2, sometimes little higher 98.8/99.0. Once/twice 100 when we provide crosine. Initially she was saying headache but from last 2-4 days no headache as well, she is active and does not feel any problem other than minor headache sometimes. In last 10 months she complain 3-4 times about headache which sustains for couple of minute/hour only. Kindly advise, thanks in advance.
Hi there. Warm forehead with temperature being less than 100 F is perfectly normal. You are right in giving crocin when the temperature exceeds 100 F, or if she has a severe headache.
Warning Signs: 1. Severe headache making her cry 2. Persistent vomiting 3. High fever (temp >102F) lasting more than 5 days 4. Excessive drowsiness
If any of these are present, contact your doctor. Otherwise nothing to worry, it seems to be a viral infection which will settle. Regards, Dr. Vaishnavi
