What Causes Headache And Itchiness On The Cheek After Hitting The Head?
Hit the top of my head by jumping and hitting a metal vent, don't think i hit it that hard but it left me with a headache, also, not sure if this could be connected but the right side of my cheek was itchy and left a circular red spot on it, could've been mold or something that fell off and just reacted to it, I dont know, anyways this headache lasted for the entire day, and I still have the headache the next day, today. Wondering if it could've been something serious. Thank you.
Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
From what you say, you suffered a minor head injury. In the absence of any loss of consciousness, amnesia, vomiting, visual dysfunction or collapse, then I would not be too worried about your symptoms. If any of these symptoms arise, then you should go and get checked out at your Emergency Department. I do not think the rash is in any way related to your injury. Yes you may have reacted to some organism such as a mould, if you think this was the case. Take some antihistamine if you are having itching, such as piriton (chlorpheniramine) or loratidine. If you have any tongue or lip swelling, or itching throat or wheeze/breathlessness, then you should seek emergency help at your Emergency Department.
