What Causes Headache And Stomach Pain After Hitting The Head?
My question is about a 12 year old male. He was accidentally hit in the head with a metal object (air soft pistol). It made about a 2 cm cut above the left eye brow, with minimal bleeding. I cleaned and placed a steri-strip over the area. There was slight swelling to the area and complaints of headache and stomach pain . Pupils were equal and reactant to light. Hi,
Depth of the wound not mentioned, anyhow 2 cm sized wound needs to be sutured. If the headache is severe and is associated with vomiting then CT Scan brain needs to be done.
He needs adequate bed rest for 2 to 3 weeks and NO any strenuous work that stresses him mentally. He will be alright soon.

Is he having history of vomitings or loss of consciousness(LOC)? If the amswer is NO then relax down.
For headache, we can give some good analgesics. But as all that drugs require precsription, so it's better to consult a physician.
Absolute bed rest for 1 to 2 days. Watch for any symptoms of:
LOC
Vomoting
Seizure activity
Bladder or bowel incontinence
If you find any development of such symptoms then report to an ER Physician without any delay.
