What Causes Headache, Itchy Public Hair And Rash?

Are having constant phlegm in back of throat, having a small rash that comes and goes in a matter of minutes, an itchy pubic hair area, and the occasional headache symptoms of HIV? I don t have a fever, diarrhea, or fatigue. I may have slightly swollen lymph nodes, but I m honestly not sure (they re don t hurt at all). I lost my virginity to my boyfriend and we had an accident of him semen possibly getting inside of me. He s had two sexual partners and his first partner had had sex before. I m really scared and am feeling really stupid about doing this. I keep panicking and crying because I m so afraid. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms does not mean you are HIV positive. Only way to confirm is to take a blood test. An antigen / antibody test performed by a laboratory on blood from a vein can usually detect HIV infection 18 to 45 days after an exposure. Antigen / antibody tests done with blood from a finger prick can take longer to detect HIV (18 to 90 days after an exposure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
