What Causes Headache With Nausea After Taking Carafate?

i am a 29 year old male with a hx of GERD and mild but constant pain in my upper middle abdomen. I take Nexium 40 mg BID for over a month now and recently started Carafate. I have had a headache with nausea (constant) for the past 2 weeks that is worse at night when it's bed time, what could be wrong if anything?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The cause of headache with nausea is definitely related to the documented side effect of sucralfate (Carafate).
Stop its consumption and you will be alright as the previous stage within next 48 hours.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
