What Causes Headache With Throat Pain?

My 3 year old daughter complains headache and throat pain since yesterday. She's also having a hard time sleeping right now. She doesn't have fever but she's asking for blanket, telling me she's cold but we're in a tropical-hot country and it's really humid-hot right now, so I'm really concerned if she's alright.

Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I completely understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for these symptoms are self limiting viral infections. They just need symptomatic treatment.
I recommend the following for such cases:
-Acetaminophen for fever spikes and throat pain.
-Warm saline gargles with antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine or Benadryl syrup. This will relieve the throat infection.
- since the sinus congestion is most likely reason for associated headache, steam inhalation or use of humidifiers during sleep are useful remedies.
- use antibiotics after throat swab culture for streptococcal infection if the symptoms are severe and fever spikes occur.

Hopefully this will be helpful.
Take care
