What Causes Headaches, Water Retention And Leg Cramps While On Coversyl?

My GFR is 38 and blood pressure averages 165/100 (with meds..diruretic and 4mg coversyl. I have headaches, some fluid retention ( 12 pounds in the past week), itchy skin, leg cramps. My GP said to take my BP for a month and the she will see if I need a kidney specialist. How concerned should I be and how long should I wait before seeing a specialist?

Hi,

Please note that nephropathy has set in. What are levels of serum creatinine, etc. You should also need nephrologist opinion. Till then continue diuretic and blood pressure medications.
