What Causes Heart Fluttering And Breathing Difficulty After Taking Loratab?

I m curious, I took a half of a Loratab 10mg (yellow) and I drove my fiancée to work. On the way, my heart kind of fluttered and caught in my breath. It kind of felt like someone hit me in the chest, or I had the wind knocked out of me. My heart is still fluttering a bit but has appeared to calm down. It scared me. Could this be a symptom of the Loratab or maybe something more underlying/serious?

Hi,

Lortab 10/500 (hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen) is unlikely to cause acute chest discomfort or fluttering (rapid heart rate). The episode may be due to PSVT (paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia) or intermittent Atrial Fibrillation. A 12 lead ECG with rhythm strip will clarify the issue. Cardiology consultation is advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
