What Causes Heart Palpitations Inspite Of Having Cipro 500 Mg?
Hello. I was prescribed cipr, 500 mg twice a day and clindamycin 300 mg twice a day for tooth ache. this was a walk in clinic (it is Saturday) I ll see my dentist on Monday. My question is I am afraid to take the cipro as I have heart palpitations and tachycardia. Is it ok to take just the clindamycin until Monday... thank you

I can understand your concern for the safety of the prescribed medications.
One of the important side effects of Ciprofloxacin is prolongation of QT interval in ECG which can result in increased in heart beats to the extent of causing palpitations and tachycardia.
You are advised to to discontinue Ciprofloxacin till you meet your dentist so that an alternative but a safer antibiotic would be prescribed to you.
