What Causes Heart Palpitations To A 15 Year Old?

Lately I have been having heart palpitations. I am 15 years old. I am wondering if there is a link to this and the fact that I have been taking a Melatonin supplement to go to bed earlier, as it happened around the same time I started taking it. Any help?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Normally palpitation can occur due to anxiety, fever, exercise.
It can also occur due to extreme anemia, thyrotoxicosis.
But if there is palpitation one has to rule out either congenital or acquired heart disease.
Better consult cardiologist to rule out any heart disease.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
