What Causes Heaviness In The Legs And Hip Area While Walking?
I have a heaviness in my legs when I walk any distance. It inludes a weariness through my hip area. I have arthritis in my spine, restless leg syndrome, an artificial hip in one side and knee in other.I am not diabetic, but have been overweight all my life. I get pt in heated pool for back relief now. No problems in the pool, once on land, I am unable to simply walk my dog like I used to.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns
Hi, If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would come up with three possibilities, these include:
First Possibility being neurogenic claudications from the back problem and nerve root compression so you should do MRI LUMBOSACRAL spine to assess the condition well and you should receive pregabalin once daily before sleep.
second possibility being radicular pain from your hip or knee problem and you should do new x rays for them to assess the integrity of the artificial joint to exclude loosening and you should also exclude Infection by doing lab investigations.
Finally ,It's less likely to be vascular claudications and should be excluded by doing duplex on the venous system of your lower limb.
