What Causes Heaviness In The Stomach With Fatigue And Breathing Difficulty?

38 y.o 5 9 , Female, 140 lbs. Heavy brick stomach. On top of that feel constant fatigue, zombie head, very poor concentration, and heavy-heavy breathing, like I am 75 y.o Currently on a baby food, as no matter what I eat, I feel like I ate a whole buffet, so I buy a case of a baby food and eat 6-7 of them a day (6 oz each). Normally I eat very little around 6-6:30 p.m. and go to bed around 11 p.m. In the morning, still feel full like I just ate. No matter what I eat and how much, even after baby food, my stomach looks like I am 2-3 months pregnant, while I always had a flat stomach my whole life...and my legs, arms, neck, everything looks the same, just stomach looks funky. Had several tests done last November: endoscopy, blood tets, you name it - all came back normal of course, yet the misery is still here. Man, I never knew it would be so hard to find a good gastroenterologist! Schedule appt to see a new doctor in September (yep, she is that booked) and hope she will give me more detailed tests, but for now I have no idea what to do. Was told that Domperidone might help, so my friends in Europe sent me Motilium. Have been taking it for few weeks, started having HORRIBLE headaches, while my stomach felt the same, so I stopped. I know something is in there, I dont believe that I feel this for no reason...I have a feeling that this fatigue and heavy breathing connected to my stomach, but how? And what other tests besides colonoscopy and endoscopy should I ask my new doctor for when I see her in September? I want to be prepared. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you are suffering from GERD. So I would suggest you 24hr pH study in addition to esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Meanwhile you should take small meals, avoid fat, spices, less of fluids in evening and take dinner at least 2-3 hours before going to bed with head end of bed elevated. Try reduction of weight. Another possibility is gastroparesis.

Hope you got some help.

Regards,
Dr. Zahoor Ahmad,
General Surgeon
