Hello,

You have history of being a smoker though presently you have quit smoking. You have also gained a lot of weight since 4 weeks. Presently you feel heaviness in the arms, legs, feet & discomfort in the abdomen (extended feeling). The symptoms that you are experiencing are symptoms of PAD. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP.

Get blood tests, lipid function tests, Urinalysis, CBC, blood glucose (R/PP/F), Angiography, Doppler ultrasound, Ankle-brachial index (ABI). etc. to detect PAD. you will be treated accordingly. Treatment of PAD, is physical activity- simple walking, leg exercises and treadmill exercise programs can ease symptoms. If reports show cholesterol and triglyceride towards the higher side, your treating doctor will prescribe medicines to prevent blood clots, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and control pain and other symptoms.

Take healthy diet low in saturated fat to lower your risk of atherosclerosis. After getting diagnosed your treating doctor may recommend revascularization treatment for PAD. Stay well hydrated, quit addictions if any. Take healthy diet, avoid junk food, packaged or frozen food. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
