What Causes Heavy Bleeding After Using Cerazette Tablet?

Hi,I ve taken cerazette for 18 months-since birth of my daughter and was told it best one if your breastfeeding, I had no periods until 2 months ago-now I have bleed for last 4 weeks. I stopped it 5 days ago in desperate attempt to stop the flow but I m still bleeding (and still bf)! Will it ever stop? thanks

I have gone through your query.
I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
Cerazette tablet is a very good contraceptive tablet , for breast feeding women. But it has undesirable effect of irregular bleeding episodes. As you have stopped it since 5 days, I will suggest you to use barrier method -condom- if needed.
Secondly i will suggest Tab. Pause MF thrice a day for 2 to 3 days, till this bleeding stops. You can choose from next 2 options- 1) Once bleeding stops wait till next natural cycle, and restart Cerazette from day 1 of that cycle.
2)after 2 more days from now- i. e. 7 days of Cerazette free period- you can use any combi pill like Ovral L once a day for 21 days, and start Cerazette from 22nd day.
Just a word of caution- in any case you need to use condom for first 7 days of Combi pills or Cerazette use.
