What Causes Heavy Bleeding After Using Depo Provera Shots?

Hi, I just had a baby a little over two months ago. I got the depo shot three weeks ago and have been on the shot before getting pregnant and never had my period on it. Now I am bleeding extremely heavy bright red and passing nickel sized whitish grey clots with spots of red. Am I having a miscarriage? Or is this normal?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
If you did not have sex before using Depot provera/ used barrier contraceptives for first 7 days of depot provera, there is no chance of conception.
Depot provera is known to cause irregular bleeding for first 3 months of use. It mostly stops after that.
Though you had no such bleeding with the drug before, it may have different effect following delivery.
Thanks.
