What Causes Heavy Bleeding And Sore Throat After Unprotected Sex?

I am on Loestrin 24fe and take it regularly. about 2 weeks ago while i was on my period my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex and he came in me. now, 2 weeks later, i have very sore breasts and heavy bleeding. i am usually very regular and only bleed if i forget to take a pill. i took a pregnancy test and it said negative, but i wasnt sure if it was just because i tested too early. what could this be?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The side effects you are mentioning can also be seen simply from the use of birth control pills and contraceptives. I would although recommend a repeat home pregnancy test to be conducted at least 7-10 days after the last one, this time make sure you use an early morning urine sample to ensure accuracy.

In short, any cause for a hormonal imbalance can cause the symptoms you are experiencing ma'am.
