What Causes Heavy Bleeding For Three Weeks After Stopping Birth Control Pills?
Hi, I ve been on birth control for around 3 years... I recently decided I wanted to get off of it, I stopped taking them at the end of June. I started my period around the time that I was supposed to, and I had it for a little over a week (I usually have it for 4-5 days) I figured it was normal because I stopped taking my pills. I didn t bleed for about 3 days and then it started again and it hasn t stopped, it s been about 3 weeks now... It s super heavy flow I have to change my tampon around every 20 minutes and something I even bleed through it faster than that. I also get really bad cramps, and I cry for no reason at all... I ve also been really really tired the past week, all I want to do is sleep. Is this normal?
The reason for bleeding and mood change may be the sudden stop of birth control. You should have consulted your doctor first. You may need to start a pill again like Primolut N to stop them.
