Hello,
You are having periods with heavy huge blood clots, a week before you were having bad cramps. You are sexually active. Heavy bleeding commonly occurs due to fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis,
pelvic infection, polyps,
hypothyroidism, DUB,
dysfunctional uterine bleeding,
endometrial carcinoma, etc. Heavy periods can also be due to a miscarriage.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, your treating doctor will tell you to get blood tests, ultrasound or laparoscopy, Pap smear test,
endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy, sono-hysterography, etc., done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and the severity of the symptoms. In the meantime, take rest and take food rich in iron, magnesium, calcium, etc. Take adequate amount of fluids and water. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
