Since there is a history of a skin tag before this happening, I would advise you to take a consultation of a General Surgeon to get a clinical evaluation actual examination, proctoscopy to see the grade of hemorrhoid and colonoscopy to rule out any colonic pathology. This will give the correct diagnosis and a plan for further treatment. Till then have Sitz bath. Keep the area clean with ample of water and then dry the area with hair dryer to avoid soddening. Applying some ointments does not help much. Take a laxative if you have constipation. Take full normal diet high in fiber contents.
