What Causes High Fever And Diarrhea After Consuming Alcohol?

Hello. 3 months ago i got very sick. It was the day after i had been drinking for my first time. I got pretty drunk. But some hours later i started feeling bad in my stomach. I was getting nauseas. I also got a pretty high fever which lasted for 12-14 hours. But the worst part was the day after that when the diarreha came. And one day after that i started getting tarry stool which indicates internal bleeding. The bleeding lasted for 4-5 days. After 10 days i started feeling better. But my stomach was still loose which lasted for over 1 month. Somtimes now i have episodes with loose stool but is probably caused by irretable bowel syndrome. But is it safe for me to drink alcohol again? Or was it just food poisoning?

Hello,

I too think you experienced internal bleeding. And this is not a joke. You should get immediate evaluation by gastroenterologist.

Should run upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, fecal occult blood immediately.

Plus, should run further blood tests to rule out alcohol induced hepatitis (liver/pancreas/kidney function test, complete blood count, urine analysis).

You should not use alcohol until doctor will say it's safe for you. It might be worst the next time you drink.
