What Causes High Levels Of Amylase Post Treatment For Pancreatitis?

My amalyse and lipase were extremely high and I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. They came down quickly and I was discharged from hospital. Now a week after discharge my my amalyse is 315. I do NOt drink I have no symptoms. I have been trying to be careful with diet. Cat scans and Mri show no prob I am diabetic. Numbers are good. Taking 12 units a day of lantus. Any meds to take for high amalyse?

Hi,
Serum amylase is not specific for acute pancreatitis, though serum lipase is the best. There are a spectral of other non specific conditions that have elevated serum amylase levels which includes salivary gland infection as well.
If you are asymptomatic, there is no reason to worry.
