A few weeks ago a UA was done in the clinic because ai thought I had a UTI. No infection, but 3+ protein in the urine. Had mciroalbumin urine test oen a few days ago, results: 788! I am not diabetic and have only mild hypertension. what could be cusing this?
Albumin, or protein, in the urine, is a symptom of kidney disease. In your friend's case, hypertension is the obvious culprit, although you should examine him for other causes, e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular disease, rheumatological causes, etc.
