Dear- thanks for using our service, I read your question with care and will help you with my medical advise. When you have an accident with spinal cord injury, there are multiples nerves terminals that control different parts of the body, including the bladder. That is why patients can have urinary retention or incontinence, depending of the level of damage. You had to use the foley catheter to help that, now you probably still have some problem with the bladder's contraction and needs more pressure to get the urine out.Other possibility is uretral stricture, mostly if you had foley for more than 6 weeks. I recommend you an urologist evaluation to see what can be done. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.JC
