What Causes Hot Flashes And Excessive Sweating?

I am a 72 year old woman. I had a partial hystorectomy when I was 42. I went thru the normal menopausal systems such as hot flashes etc but those ended long ago. Recently I starting episodes of flushing. I get really warm from head to toe and I get very clamy. What could be causing these systems? Could it be something I need to be concerned about? .
