I had a complete hysterectomy 30 years ago so I know it s no hot flashes. But I get extremely hot and sweaty multiple times throughout the day and night for absolutely no reason. I have not taken estrogen in over 10 years. What causes this execessive heat that pours off of me?
Hysterectomy alone would not cause hot flashes if ovaries were not removed. So the recent onset of hot flashes and associated symptoms could be indicative of menopause when ovaries stop functioning. Estrogen, progesterone levels, LSH/FH levels can confirm the diagnosis. If symptoms are troublesome, hormone replacement can be considered.
