What Causes Hotness And Blotchy Red Skin On Face Of A Child?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... My 2 1/2 year old son woke up from his afternoon nap feeling very hot and with blotchy, red skin on his face - around his ears and cheeks and above his eyebrows. He ate some fresh store bought meatballs at lunchtime that he s never had before - could it be the spices in that which caused this? He s fine otherwise, full of beans and eating and drinking normally. Thanks, Nadine

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

There are three possibilities here -
1. some sort of food allergy which got better by itself.
2. ambient temperature induced skin changes.
3. mild sleeping viral illness which is getting better.

If this repeats I suggest that you consult his pediatrician right away.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
