What Causes Immobility In Left Leg And Arm After Falling?
Good Evening. My 87 year old mom fell recently and lost the use of her left leg and arm. The ER could not find anything wrong with her. They suspected she d had what they called a TIA but said that the tests were inconclusive. My mom is in a rehab facility now working to gain back use of her leg and arm. I ve had her tested for Lyme and for a broken hip both were negative. Is there something else we should be looking for? Possible a crushed nerve from the initial fall?
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that your mom is probably having transient ischemic attack (TIA) . You can consult neurologist for her further treatment. MRIangiography of brain will be helpful in diagnosis. Treatment depends on results of MRI and CT scan. She is further advised to your exercises to regain the power of muscles. You can discuss with your doctor about it. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you a good health. Take care.
