What Causes Immobility In The Fingers?

My brother has an outer layer skin problem on his hands where he is able to move only two fingers. Something about the top layer of skin growing to ???. He will shortly be undergoing surgery and will be off work for quite a while. Is there a name for this problem that I might be able to google and learn more about it? Thank you.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

His skin problems could be related to hypercheratosis or psoriasis. Anyway, you should discuss with his dermatologist about the exact name of the diagnosis. There are many skin disorders, that may mimic this clinical situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
