What Causes Incessant Shaking Of Leg While Sitting Idle?

I have a 4 yr old girl i my preschool program who shakes her legs insessantly when she lies on the floor on her belly and she cannot stop...she says if you hold her legs for a moment that 'she cannot think' and I am wondering if there may be some processing neurological issue...she also sweats and holds her breath to the point of scaring me...she only seems to do this when she is 'idle' and not when she is sitting in a chair or playing around in the room she runs and jumps and hops age appropriately..so what can it be?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for the query.
This condition, called Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), makes it difficult for patients to sit down comfortably during air travel, long drives or even while watching a movie.
Iron deficiency and folic acid deficiency may cause it.
Problem could be genetic also.
A cold compress and massage of the affected parts can also help ease the painful sensation.
Benzodiazines and other options are also available.
See a doctor if problem persists.
Hope i helped you.
