What Causes Increased Heart Rate After Alcohol Consumption?
Why does my heart beat increase when I drink Amy amount of alcohol? It s not just a faster heart rate I feel, it s also a tight, painful chest pain, along with shortness of breath. I ve been drinking for years, and this is the first experience I have.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have increased heart rate after alcohol consumption . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like like heart tissue disease , caffeinated product , stress , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to alcohol consumption . Heavy drinking can damage the heart over time. It can cause abnormalities including high blood pressure, an enlarged and weakened heart, congestive heart failure and raise levels of triglycerides, further stressing the muscle. An increased heart rate is one symptom of these conditions. I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe betablockers , anti arrhythmic along with blood thinners after few tests.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
